Weekly Photo Challenge: (Saturation)

I just couldn’t resist posting another blue-containers-on-a-junkyard panorama picture. I also wasn’t able to resist taking part of a weekly photo challenge. So, here we go. (Fuji GX 617, Fujifilm Velvia 100)

This is the only photo I took in L.A. during my last stay there back in August. As far as I remember this was West Hollywood Boulevard. We were there only for some hours. Most of the time we spent in the car cruising through the busy streets of L.A. and all the rest I„Photo of the day #119“ weiterlesen

A short note for those of you who are waiting for the long promised San Francisco panorama shots: Work is in progress! Until then here’s the first large format panorama shot directly out of San Francisco… Coffee Company. In Munich. 30 secs exposure time. Therefore the heavy blur. (FUJI G617, Fujifilm Velvia 100)

If you ever wondered what my favourite colour might be, here’s the answer. Containers on a junkyard in Garching near Munich. (Fuji G617, Fujifilm Velvia 100)

I’m a little bit obsessed about the architecture of the O2-Tower here. This one was shot handheld using a radical perspective. (FUJI G617, ILFORD Delta 100)

Another analogue panoramic shot. Construction site silos in an industrial park in Garching in the north of Munich. I was so fascinated by the clear colour scheme of blue and white which was just slightly distorted by some traces of rust. (FUJI G617, FUJIFILM Velvia 100)

Missed out yesterday’s photo of the day. Too busy. Therefore you’ll get this panorama of a container on a junkyard at the outskirts of Munich. (Fuji GX617 w/ f6.7 / 180mm, Fujifilm Velvia 100)

Finally I managed to get the holiday-in-San Francisco-films to the laboratory. 27 by the number. That means 108 frames as there are 4 frames on every roll of film when using a 6×17 panorama kit. Yes, FOUR. Not really a lot compared to the masses of pictures most people shoot with their digital stuff. They’ll„Photo of the day #108“ weiterlesen

Off for The Bay!

Dear friends and readers, today I’m heading off to San Fran and the bay area for a two week vacancy. To be exact my plane and this post are taking off in the very same minute. If you should presume that I will carry tons of photographic gear on my shoulder when I just should„Off for The Bay!“ weiterlesen

The famous Ruinas (de la Catedral) de San Pablo in Macao. Probably one of the most coveted photographic scenes there. Even though I only stayed for one day in Macao back then in 1997 I had a feeling that the general ambiance was totally different to Hong Kong. Another one from my 1997 trip to Hong Kong and Macao. That day we paid a visit to Lantau island with its famous ancient fishing village Tai O. I remember having some kind of crab or crawfish for lunch which looked like a giant woodlouse. Very special but yet very good.

Oh dear, another photo of the day forfeited yesterday… I’m actually plundering my archives so here comes some really old stuff. Today’s capture dates back to 1997 when I visited Hong Kong and Macao. Hong Kong already went back to China about half a year earlier and Macao was soon to follow. The only camera„Photo of the day #84“ weiterlesen
